The Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire

WhoScoreWhenNotes
McGargleExcellent08 Oct 2011 Black premium bitter with excellent smooth mouthfeel. Solid but restrained malts allowed the hops to shine. Long dry finish. Black IPA? No. Great black bitter? Yes.

The Humphrey Bean, Tonbridge, Kent

oz11Excellent07 Oct 2011 Hate the name for the style (Black...India Pale Ale?) but enjoyed the beer.
Martin the MildmanGood05 Oct 2011 A better example of a black IPA. Black in colour with roasted malt flavour vying with bitter hops for attention. Dry finish. My score 15/20 with B for quality - served flat with no condition and slightly too cold.
