Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Stephen HarrisGood30 Jan 2012 Dark and rich and full of cherries, without descending into sweetness. Pretty good, but none of the flavours are as developed as in an earlier sample I tried of this beer.

Stephen HarrisExcellent12 Jan 2012 A very deep brown coloured, cherry porter. The overwhelming flavour is smooth chocolate. There are no burnt or toasty flavours that I can detect. A slight fizz on the tongue, and the cherry taste comes through towards the end but is not sweet. My assumption is that this US beer is brewed at Cropton.

The Eagle, Hoxton, Central London

Martin the MildmanGood27 Dec 2011 Dark brown porter with quite a bitter taste but not much cherry flavour. Rather thin, fruity finish. My score 15/20.
