Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The Watch House, Lewisham, Greater London

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Philip PirripGood11 Feb 2024 Good but that is now twice as a Spoon's guest ale it seems to be quite different from past tastings

The West Gate Inn, Canterbury, Kent

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Jack WilliamGood24 Jan 2024 Smooth, full bodied.

The New Cross Turnpike, Welling, Greater London

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Philip PirripPoor16 Jan 2024 Awful stuff. A nasty broken yeasty head and no life. Had to get shots of lemonade added to finish it

The London & Rye, Catford, Greater London

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Philip PirripUndrinkable26 Feb 2023 The lunatics seemed to be running the asylum. I simply asked for some dashes of lemonade to take the edge off this ale but was refused as I had not paid for it, then another simply horrible pint of same was pulled and given to me. A few sips then left

Philip PirripExcellent06 Feb 2013 VERY very fruity
Philip PirripGood10 Jul 2012 Much darker - too malty for my palate today (but still had a hoppiness)

The Castle Inn, Sandown, Isle of Wight

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Magnus GreelGood17 Dec 2020 Chestnut coloured smoky, spicy hoppiness on the nose, leading to a molasses, nutty palate with a light fruity hop dryness.

Philip PirripExceptional09 Feb 2020 I have pondered overnight and still can not fault this beer. Nutty, fruity and hoppy with a rare compelling moreishness

IanGood07 Apr 2007 Hazy amber colour with no head. Plenty of English hops. Some fruity malt. Good fuggles hop throughout. Citrus and floral and aromatic. I rather like it, touch of ginger to the biscuity malt. Well made very English beer.

Goddards Fuggle (or Fuggle Dee-Dum)

4.80% ABV.

We have tried this beer 42 times.

We have given this beer an average score of Good to Excellent.
