Stephen HarrisPoor12 Nov 2013 Not the Old Ale I was expecting (I really should read the tasting notes sometimes) but a chestnut-coloured, dry, tangy, malty bitter. Zero evidence of hops in the flavour. Not really my thing at all.

Martin the MildmanPoor24 Nov 2012 Dry, malty red ale with a yeasty, musty malt character giving slight bitterness. Hop character is low, finish is dry and tangy. My score 11/20.

Bear & Ragged StaffAcceptable29 Jan 2012 A dark ale with lots of dark flavours trying to get out, but they were weak and veiled by a thin malty sweetness. Not for me, others thought it very good!
