Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

IanGood15 Apr 2006 Black beer with no head. Lots of intense roasted amtl, lots of dryness on end. Choc/coffee. Aroma has some charcoal/choc. Some juicyness in mouth. Nice intense flavours. Seems to have a fairly healthy dollop of hop on end.

The Red Lion, Isleworth, Greater London

IanExcellent18 Mar 2006 Virtually black in colour with beige head. Really chewy, tarry. Lots of tarry malt, coffee, dark choc. The finish really makes you have to take a breath. Bit of wood in there? Even a bit smokey. It coats the gums like a good red wine
