Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

McGargleAcceptable26 May 2010 A stronger dark mild, it pours a deep ruby red. Sweet and fruity aromas are followed up in the mouth. Tasted over-complicated and unbalanced with too much sweet fruit and little else. Might improve with keeping.

King William IV, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

Martin the MildmanGood10 May 2010 Dark brown in colour, quite bitter for a mild and not a great deal of maltiness, but some hoppiness. My suspicion is that this is Old Hooky with added caramel.
