Early evening busy as expected for such time on a Friday. Superb choice as always, my only gripe is the chalkboard listing the ales available doesn't reference which brewery they originate from.

Early evening - their beer festival had sold out but a good selection of ales still left on hand pump. I sat in the garden and enjoyed the first issue of the East Kent Drinker.

Early evening- some regulars still going strong on this ridiculously long additional bank holiday weekend in a month with two others. I’m trying to avoid coronation stuff but good bar banter turned to pot-holes in the Mall and who should be paying for them so I left them to it, without noting all the other, no doubt very good, beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Green Devil IPA6.00ExcellentIt’s Oakham, it’s 6%, it’s at the best real ale pub in Canterbury. What’s not to like.

Evening. We have a few tables in the conservatory area reserved for a bit of a do to celebrate my son’s birthday and his partner’s - who is 50 today. A good time had by all - and the barman, who is working single handedly, does very well.
