Mid evening and fairly quiet. This place seems to attract the more younger ale drinker I've found - including myself of course.

Few in on a blustery evening. Terrible smell from harbour. 2 beers on. Camra discount given.

Just after noon - first stop after a 23 mile cycle from Canterbury. A few customers all outside. Margate fairly quiet for a nice Summer's day. Bit disappointed in the negative signs here "do NOT lean your bike here"; "mobile phone charging costs 50p here"; and even "Skylarging" for "Skylarking" with no brewery listed - bit off putting - but very nice location.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Isla Vale Alesmiths - Cock a Snook4.50GoodPeachy
Pig & Porter - Skylarking4.00GoodRather cloudy but a lovely light citrus flavour.

I was wondering whether the old memory was beginning to fail me when I walked in here; until I read the bit on this website that says the bar has moved into bigger premises next door to where they were last time I visited. Human customers just about outnumbered the canine ones.

Margate was very busy today and this pub was no exception but thankfully most people were seated outside so I found plenty of space inside. Just time for one pint before heading off for a train that turned out to be cancelled.

The pub is found in Margate, Kent, CT9 1AP.

Micropub initially housed in two former fishermen's workshops and nets / lobster pots store (Units 7 & 8) about two thirds along on the town's stone pier, opened over Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend 2013. Seating was a mixture of 3 high tables with high stools and some normal height tables and chairs. An attractive high back settle was constructed against one wall. Electric piano usually covered up. Casks of real ale and cider boxes were housed in a cooled room in the corner and visible through a viewing window. Walls were raw brick some of which were painted in a sea green and supporting metal girders are visible. No toilets inside the pub so use the public ones next door. Outside seating allows a picturesque view of the harbour and the sandy beached bay. In May 2015 it moved into the larger neighbouring unit (Unit 9). Most of the former unit's interior fittings and fixtures have moved into the new unit which now houses a larger cool cellar room at the side.

We have visited this pub 69 times, seen 106 different beers and tried 67 of them.
