Back for a “second Thursday” group visit - 9 of us making it quite cosy with about the same number of regulars. We were allowed food from the Chippy across the road - much to the relief of one local “that’s quieter now you’re all eating” she declared. Ales at £3.50 a pint, but £2 a half.

Just after noon opening - 5 other punters in, “ who will rid me of this turbulent priest” got blank stares from two of them - Veblen when I mentioned Tommy Becket. Everyone enjoying the Wantsum beer however.

Lunchtime session for our bus-pass group. We were offered an outside area round the corner - but would have had to have used plastic glasses. Stayed inside and chatted with a number of locals. Very convivial. Lunch by way of the chippy opposite and the pub provided condiments and serviettes. We have been offered a cold buffet if we order ahead next time.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Constellation - Indus3.90ExcellentI started and finished on this ale - it really was rather good. (Marked up incorrectly as “Incus” on the blackboard.)
Milestone - Maid Marian4.30GoodGood body.
Wantsum - More’s Head3.70GoodFresh barrel - so much better than my recent pint at Blakes.

Lunchtime - good cycle from the Fez. Nice to see a group of about 6 twenty-somethings coming in as I left. No choice of brewery today - but A&D have a good range.

2nd Thursday bus-pass outing for 8 of us from Canterbury. Just 3 other punters during our session. All of the beers were in good condition - but I had a very heavy cold and really couldn’t discern any flavours to note.
