Early evening visit. Beautifully restored building but with no soul. I was quick to sup and leave after I had walked around to discover the layout. Bit much having 9 of the 18 handpumps selling Ruddles, Abbot and Doomeroo.

Its huge. Its great. It has more staff than i have ever seen in a Wetherspoons. They patrol their areas ready to spring on the mere hint of an empty plate. Impressive
Naylor's - Santa's Dark Side4.40GoodSome sour but a bit too light in the malt. Good old though

Afternoon visit on a very cold day with the occasional light snow flurry so we did not expect this place to be busy, in fact it was doing quite well although I think absolutely no-one was using the outside seating areas. The food trade appeared to be doing quite well. I have not listed all the beers that were available but the usual suspects were there together with some guests and the Christmas Ales were starting to make an appearance.
Elgood's - North Brink Porter5.00ExcellentSuperb dark and creamy porter.

10 guests on, but some of them have been on for over a week. Decided to check on them and I was a bit disappointed. The crowds that were here in the first month have disappeared as the weather got colder.
Milestone - Lincoln Magna Carta5.00GoodThis beer had only been on a couple of days and was fine
Saltaire - Cascadian Black4.80AcceptableThis has been on a while and was just acceptable
Burton Bridge - Festival Ale5.50PoorAnother beer thats been on for a week and the whiff of vinegar was in the air
Ringwood - Old Thumper5.10UndrinkableI had a sample of this and it was off.

Lunchtime visit on a sunny November day, the pub was busy but well staffed so service was quick and friendly. I met up with some friends and we sat outside on the veranda and enjoyed some nice weather and sea views. I listened to some conspiracy theories regarding a recent article about this place in The Times. I was very pleased to hear that the manager of this pub has a policy that any beer listed as Available Soon must be on sale within one hour although, apparently, there have been some busy Friday evenings when this target has not been achieved.
