We sat in our usual corner and contemplated leaving because somebody had selected some awful noisy music on the juke box but decided to stay after somebody with better taste fed their money to the machine.
We had a chat with the current landlady who is planning to leave soon and enjoy her retirement.

A group of us met here for a drink before heading off to the Rifle Volunteers, a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere but it was disappointing to have just two cask ales on offer.

The intention was to have one in here and then move on to two more pubs, but the beer was good, we were comfortable, and someone was playing Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan records on the juke box so we stayed and never made it to the other pubs.
