Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Good Health3.60ExcellentFirst find of this new Kent brewery in Derby! A good easy drinking amber bitter with biscuity malt and caramel and a soft hoppiness with a slightly fruity finish. My score 16/20.

Nutbrook - The Mild Side3.60AcceptableRuby coloured but laden with crystal malt giving quite a bitter, nutty flavour. Low hopped with a dry, rather bitter finish not entirely true to style. My score 14/20.

The pub is found in Derby, Derbyshire, DE1 2QE.

At one time a Shipstone's House (and later a Batemans one for a short while) and is famed for being the birthplace of the Derby CAMRA Branch in 1974. Big detached Castle Rock pub, near the river, not far from the railway station. Large central bar serves 2 rooms with Castle Rock beers, guests, ciders and some continental beers. Real ale discount for card carrying CAMRA members. Walls adorned with lots of railwayana especially locomotive nameplates and numberplates. There is a Class 37 locomotive cab in the car park! 9 handpumps on the public bar counter.
