Round about the end of the lunchtime session. Friendly bar staff, nice and warm. There were the usual Shepherd Neame beers on, which I don't normally bother to note.

In Canterbury for a spot of Christmas shopping, decided on The Parrot for luncheon. Had to wait ten minutes as they were cleaning the beer lines. My posh fish finger sandwich was delicious but this place doesn't have the same welcoming vibe as a few years back.

Busy with large groups eating. The atmosphere in here isn't as good as when it was Simple Simon's in my opinion. They could do with bringing back the bands. Still a nice pub though.

I'd read in the paper that they'd changed hands and had Goacher's Gold Star on. I missed the Gold Star, but hey, 4 guests! The inside was much the same as before.

After seeing Brian's recent review I suspected that Dominator would be on. It was. ...but so was the Christmas Ale and I'd had Dominator in the Phoenix recently so I gave the Shep's seasonal a try. Umm.

Externally signed as Parrot Pub & Dining. Located in Church Lane in the City's St Radigund's area. Has had various owners over the years and operated in various guises. Until recently run by Young's but now the Shepherd Neame brewery website offers this pub as one operated by it although not prominently signed as such externally.
