Early evening visit. I have reached the conclusion that Ramsgate is blessed with some very nice pubs. I’m tempted to describe this one as being a bit ‘Hackney-on-Sea”, but I won’t - I think Andrew's word 'Bohemian' is better.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wiper and True - Kaleidoscope4.00ExcellentFrom Key-Keg. Golden and hazy. Fragrant and spicy hop tastes.
Blackjack - New Deck4.20GoodA balanced, fruity, Golden Ale with a long, bitter finish.

Late afternoon and a nice crowd in including the owner of a Thanet micropub. I was told that this pub is no longer associated with Late Knights Brewery which explains why none of their beers were available.

Evening. My first visit here and immediately struck by the apparent better organisation and beer quality than at some of Late Knights's London pubs. Cosy inside and playing up, one suspects, to the slow but steady gentrification of Ramsgate.

The pub is found in Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 8NY.

Corner pub in King Street, Ramsgate. It has previously been known as the Hamiltons Tavern and Maguires, reopened by Late Knights Brewery in late 2014 as the Ravensgate Arms who sold cask and keg beers from its own and other independent breweries, it now operates as a Free House since autumn 2016. Check which beers are cask ales and which are keg on a large blackboard. 3 handpumps and 10 keg lines. Closed in May 2017 due to licensing issues. Bare wooden floor boarded throughout. Re-opened under new management on 31st August 2017 after refurbishment and with the involvement of Eddie Gadd from Ramsgate Brewery. Closed April 2023. Subsequently re-opened that year with new name and identity - principally a cocktail type bar with food.

We have visited this pub 47 times, seen 63 different beers and tried 40 of them.
