Mid afternoon one other chap in the front bar where I enjoyed a most welcome refreshing beer after working up a thirst walking from the town centre on a mild sunny day.

Mid evening and very busy standing room only. Back bar even busier with a blues/jazz band in full swing. Landlord says the Eldon Arms has been closed around four weeks. No other info on its future. Shame.
