This pub has been extensively refurbished since my last visit, the net curtains and carpets have gone, and the bar back has been restored giving a good feel of a traditional pub. Hydes have done a good job here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hydes - Original Bitter3.80ExcellentI think Hydes beers have improved since they moved to their new brewery.
Hydes - Quays Gold3.90Good
Hydes - Dark Mild3.50Not TriedThe beer was badged as Owd Oak Dark at 3.5% I am assuming that this is the Dark Mild renamed.

A large group of us met up here before catching the 86 bus to Moss Side for a visit to Hyde's Queens Brewery which is closing later this year when Hydes move to their new plant.

Very busy and a good buzz in this small Hydes tied house.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hydes - Traditional Mild3.50GoodProbably the last time I will sample this as it is being delisted after May '11. Dark ruby in colour with a distinct fruity appley flavour. Some background malt. The finish is dry and appley. My score 15/20.

Came in straight after visiting the Circus Tavern, a little more formal and reserved in here. Decent pub but left in search of a more entertaining place to have a beer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hydes - Dark Mild3.50AcceptableReasonable mild.

More like a cosy back street local than a City Centre pub, they don't come much better than this.
