My first visit to this fine old pub for many a long year. Splendid weather at lunchtime and the pub was appealing both inside and in the garden.

Upham - 1st Drop4.20PoorWell past its best and tasting worse with each mouthful. Clearly on the turn and I should have sent it back.

A Friday evening at opening time. The sun was shining and some of our group wanted to sit outside in the sun, but I prefer to sit inside in the fresh air away from smokers. Fortunately the heavens opened up and we enjoyed an excellent evening in this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
West Berkshire - Good Old (or Ordinary) Boy4.00ExcellentThis was the beer of the evening, all of our group rated this very highly. A well balanced tan coloured ale.
Ramsbury - Gold4.50GoodA golden ale that tasted stronger than 4.5%.
Box Steam - Rev. Awdry's Ale3.80GoodThis beer is also called Golden Bolt, and it was a Golden Bolt pump clip that was on display. Citrus Notes, a good session beer, but not particularly to my taste.
