Busy with a good mix of clientele. Excellent service and welcome here. My colleague was impressed with what he saw of the food offering and plans to come back to eat. There was a good selection of ales, mostly from Kentish Breweries.

Saturday lunchtime - busy inside and out. Part of this no doubt was that I was one of a group of 23 cyclists undertaking a 900+ mile Dover to Durness (far NW of Scotland). This was our lunchtime stop after 40 miles on Day 1. Very well catered for, staff very attentive. Beer good.

Early doors - just opened, I was the only customer. I was cycling the Pilgrims Way from Bluebell Hill and had already passed two nice looking pubs that weren’t quite open (the Cock Horse and the Black Horse at Detling). My first visit here and I was impressed by the layout and decor; nice feel to the place.

Excellent reception as we walked through the terrace to the bar. Just as good reception in the bar. Very friendly without being overbearing. We had done one of their walks from their website and were in dire need of drink and food. The food is a cut above your average pub grub but not expensive for the quality and service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentOne of the better pints I have had recently.
