I've not been here for 10 years. The front 2 rooms looked similar to how I remember but the back room had lost all it's sporting paraphernalia (and was therefore an improvement). We sat in the rear yard and soaked up the sun as it passed over towering conker trees in the distance. Really nice place.

Quiet in the mid-afternoon. I very much liked this pub. Roaring fire, sloping floor, friendly banter. I made a new friend in pub dog ‘Jim’ and cracked my head on a wooden beam.

Early evening and already starting to get busy. There were new faces behind the bar, but we were told that the landlady was on holiday. There was a very friendly pub dog which being a cross between a Springer and Cocker Spaniel was described as a Sprocker.
