Very busy pub popular locals and holiday makers. Joined in the weekly quiz, which was good fun.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00AcceptableSlightly sweet and malty. Nothing exceptional but a good, clean, well kept pint.
St Austell - Tribute4.20AcceptableDisappointing. My first pint of Tribute on draught. A good clean and well kept pint but totally uninspiring.
St Austell - HSD5.00AcceptableThere is a lot going on in this ale but it seems a bit muddled. Difficult to define other than to say a well kept mediocre beer.

The pub is found in Combe Martin, Devon, EX34 0ET.

A well known grade II listed pub. Built by a local eccentric in the early 18th century from the proceeds of a card game, hence the theme. Four storeys (suits) and thirteen rooms (cards in a suit) and apparently built on a plot 52 feet by 52 feet. Nice beer garden to the rear but parking nearby can sometimes be difficult.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
