Jam packed full of people in the early evening. Many are outside enjoying the warm sunshine. I join a CAMRA pub crawl group of around a dozen. Between us we try all four cask beers (I forget the name of the fourth) – none are found to be in particularly good nick.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Big Penny (formerly Truman's) as of late 2022 contract brewed - Zephyr4.40GoodSomewhat reddish in colour. Australian hop flavours, but dulled by flat condition.

Pre-shopping trauma pint. I’ve not been in here since the week this pub opened. It’s actually quite smart, and seems to have a good after-work trade.
BeerABVScoreNotes

A leaving "do" was the reason I visited this place. I won't be rushing to return.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Gold4.00PoorGolden and tasteless artificial beer flavoured water served in a souless barn. My score 10/20.

Still very new, a few contractors appeared to be doing a bit of snagging. The staff were very enthusiastic and chatty, one told me that he was keen to promote the sale of jellied eels which are on the menu. I settled for a home-made scotch egg which was delicious.
