The pub is found in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6 1DP.
Stylish bar in Friarage Street, decorated in a continental brasserie style. Situated in what was once the Thorn Gap, the building was originally a tithe barn for the Northallerton district. It was used to store wheat and agricultural produce paid as 'tithes' for the Bishopric of Durham. Following this use the building was used by many local craftsmen such as joiners, blacksmiths, wheelwrights & saddlers. In the 1890s, Langtons, the ironmongers, saddlers, boot & shoemakers was established here. In the 1990s the building was converted to The Tanner Hop Bar & Function Rooms which closed following a flood in 2000.
