We sat in the Lounge Bar which was otherwise empty. Meanwhile there was a considerable hubbub coming from the Public Bar.

The pub is found in Penybont, Powys, LD1 5UA.

This inn has been present in Penybont since at least 1771 and was rebuilt in its present position around 1840. There are two bars, a smallish and comfortable Lounge Bar (“with carpets”) and a larger Public Bar (“without carpets”). The hotel owns fishing rights on the River Ithon which are available to guests. Events in the village include trotting races and sheep shearing contests.
