Early doors on a wet August Wednesday lunchtime.The pub filled up with diners and folk enjoying a midday pint.The landlord has a wonderfully dry wit. Capital pub. We sat in a low level room decorated with railway posters and discussed sitting still with dignity.

Long, narrow stonebuilt pub just off the A283 at the historic and pedestrianised Stopham Bridge. A small bar, inglenook fireplace and rooms all at different levels.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
