18:00 visit. Easily found near the main bus stops and Hamilton Sq. Stn. A real gem of a pub with the added novelty of an attached barbers shop too! The pictures of times past, that cover the whole pub, are worthy of close perusal alone. Quiet on this visit, but I'd imagine it's very popular at other times. A "must do" when in this area.

Genuine freehouse (ex Cains), ressurected, refurbished and re-opened in 2010 by an ex Irish Guardsman. Found near the famous Mersey ferries this unique bar also houses a barbers, amidships, between the long, main bar at the front, and the rear corridor/exit to the garden/smoking area. A fine collection of military memorabilia, hats and many Mersey shipping photographs adorn the walls. Six handpumps, with an emphasis on LocAle, plus Real Cider available. CAMRA local pub of the year 2012 and a current 2013 gbg entry, and previously in 1996/8/2000/1/12.
