The pub is found in City, Central London, EC1Y 4SA.

This pub was present as the Kings Head by 1796 and stood on the site of the original Whitbread Brewery. The brewery had moved into much larger premises next door and the King’s Head became the brewery tap, a role which it filled until Whitbread ceased brewing in Chiswell Street in 1976. The pub had been rebuilt in its present form in 1860 and for many years was a small-ish, two bar set up. In around 1992 it was considerably enlarged, extending into space that had formerly been part of the brewery itself. By 1999 the pub had been acquired by Greene King and it subsequently closed in February 2008 – part of the redevelopment of the entire former brewery site. Although it was said in 2008 that the premises were destined for conversion to hotel use, the pub re-opened in March 2012 under the new name Jugged Hare. The pub part has retreated into the space occupied by the original two front bars – where it is now characterised by bare wooden floorboards and a lot of taxidermy. The lower, extension bar is now used as a restaurant.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
