This is a new pub which has replaced the Thirty-Nine Steps Ale House which was a few doors down the road. A much larger pub than the one it has replaced and now with ales on handpump rather than on gravity dispense, a selection of keg and craft ales (whatever they are) is also available. We found that the high ceilings made the place seem a bit noisy and thought that a few soft furnishings or baffles might help the acoustics.

Two visits to the opening night of the Broadstairs brewery. The queue was way down the street. More like a beer festival. Loads of craft ales and 4 real ales on. A bar billiards table is upstairs. Well worth a visit.
Fuller's - ESB5.50ExcellentGreat beer and at £3 a great price. Went well with the pork pies.

Came here after we'd left Mind The Gap to find a complete contrast, very busy with all tables taken so we decided to hotfoot it somewhere else.

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Broadstairs, Kent, CT10 1LR.

First incarnation was a former Pet Food shop converted into a Micropub in 5 Charlotte Street specialising in cask ales and ciders. Opened on the 30th November 2012. The casks were visible racked behind the bar behind glass frontage. High tables with similarly high wall mounted bench seating abounds. Plans to relocate to a nearby much larger street corner premise at 11-13 Charlotte Street came to fruition on Friday Friday 5th May 2017 and this incorporates a brewhouse for what will be Broadstairs Town Brewery later in 2017. 8 handpumps and 10 keg beer taps in the new location. Bar billiards upstairs. The new venue is too large to be a Micropub so best called an alehouse.

We have visited this pub 55 times, seen 100 different beers and tried 72 of them.
