Visits Details

Lunchtime visit (although they do not serve lunch here). A few regulars in when I arrived at 1pm, pretty crowded by the time I left at 2:15pm. At the present time this pub effectively functions as the brewery tap for Shottle Farm Brewery.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Falstaff - Smiling Assassin5.20GoodAmber, strong, malty and sweetish.
Shottle Farm - SPA Shottle Pale Ale3.90AcceptableGolden in colour and a bit hazy. Thinnish, malty taste and a hint of sourness. I struggled a bit with this, but stop short of a ‘poor’ rating as I think much of the problem was with the condition rather than the intrinsic taste.
Tower - East Mill Bitter3.50AcceptableHouse beer brewed by Tower. A sweet malty, brown bitter.

The pub is found in Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 1BA.

A large pub on the main street through Belper, close to the landmark East Mill. It has a Georgian frontage. Several, extensive drinking spaces within, with covered seating on a rear patio. A good supporter of Derbyshire breweries.

We have visited this pub once, seen 7 different beers and tried 3 of them.
