I came in here at least in part in the hope that the Adnams Nut Brown was still on. Apparently it has sold really well and will be back on the bar next week. The little pub was busy and I drank in the corridor area – a rare opportunity to do so in London.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Mosaic Pale Ale4.10ExceptionalA prime example of Mosaic hops at their very best, shining in a beer served in perfect condition. Superb. A five star beer.

The main bar was busy so we sat in the small room at the back which was just about big enough for our group.

Dave and I moved on here from the nearby Kings Arms. Much talk about my forthcoming visit to New York, a city where Dave lived for a while and he was full of advice.

Early evening pint and quiet enough here to have a table to myself. Pleasant atmosphere.

Adnams - Ghost Ship4.50AcceptableTasted rather ordinary. I’ve definitely had better pints of this.

A nice place for a post-curry pint on a Monday evening. I’m not sure why I continue to loyally buy the Truman’s beers when I see them, particularly given that there were two very good alternatives on the bar here.

The pub is found in Bethnal Green, Greater London, E2 6EG.

A former Truman’s Brewery pub, present here by the 1870s. It is a small, street corner house, with two rooms and a tiny yard at the back. The pub has a colourful history, having been owned by the Kray Twins in the 1960s, with their mother Violet installed as landlady. There was a shooting outside in 1965 and this was the bolt-hole at which the family met up on the night of the shooting of Jack McVitie. The pub closed for a while in the mid-2000s, but re-opened as a freehouse in October 2007. It is a considerably safer place these days, and quite up-market with wooden flooring and chandeliers, although the Krays are remembered in a wall poster.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 5 of them.
