I join a local CAMRA social evening here, with around 16 members present. The staff are kind enough to lay on a free hot buffet. They have spotted that we like to keep our cholesterol levels well topped-up, so everything is deep fried.

The pub is found in Chingford, Greater London, E4 6AN.

Formerly a restaurant, this premises across the road from Chingford railway station was converted to pub use in November 1999 by Wizard Inns and named the Thomas Willingale. The name was changed in 2006 to Station House; geographically relevant, but a shame to lose the homage to a local hero. There was some bother in 2009 and the pub was closed for a while on police advice– but it has emerged stronger and with a renewed focus on real ale. There is a small outside drinking area and a spacious and bright single room inside. Has a bit of a ‘chain pub’ feel. 10% discount offered on beer to CAMRA members.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 2 of them.
