Early evening - a few locals in I guess - efficient but not friendly service. I had to tick this one off - used to come here in the 80s and 90s prior to eating at the wonderful Mad Chef restaurant next door - Tartar Frigate is little changed from what I recall. The Mad Chef is sadly long gone and now just a nondescript residential place.

Ive got a bit of family history with Broadstairs, one of my great-grandmothers having run a boarding house here, and I have dim memories of childhood day trips to the town. Id forgotten what a nice place it is and it was good to take refuge in here late in the afternoon when the weather started to close in.

Another afternoon stroll which means a quick stop in here. Fair few people eating and a smattering of regulars enjoying the log fire.

Incredible sunset over viking bay so we occupied a table in the window. Can't think of anywhere better at that moment.

Popped out for a couple in the afternoon. We were the only ones in but the barmaid was really friendly and the fire was going well so much worse places to be.

Myself and my flatmate were bored so dropped in for a pint. Very quiet despite the celtic jam night being on, the people of Broadstairs need to sort themselves out.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Caledonian - Merman XXX4.80AcceptableHad a sourish aftertaste, possibly close to being on the turn. Still drinkable.
