Good selection of ales and a pleasant friendly atmosphere. In High Street Gosforth, a large pub that has been a listed building since 1987. Legend has it that The County dates back to 1826 when it was originally a dwelling house. At that time it belonged to the notorious Bulman family who lived in the area (part of Gosforth being known as Bulman Village). In 1866 the property was converted to a pub and was named The County Hotel.
