Mid afternoon and quiet just 3 others in. I've not been here since September 1989 and from what I can remember has not changed. Still the marvellous musty smell of old furniture and carpets retaining its cosy comfortable atmosphere.

Evening. Only one other customer in - a break-of-journey travelling commuter. Relaxed and chatty environment. Harvey's Sussex Best is the staple diet but other guest beers are sold - the last one had been Otter Bitter.

The pub is found in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, TN32 5DG.

The Ostrich Hotel is a Victorian bed and breakfast (B&B) and public house in Robertsbridge, sympathetically restored by the current owners. It offers a range of facilities including bed and breakfast accommodation, free function room hire, a large car park and a unique tropical garden. The name is derived from the coat of arms on its sign, which belonged to the Lord of the Manor of Robertsbridge in the 1850s, the Allfrey family. The pub was built at this location because the main London to Hastings line runs through Robertsbridge. The pub is less than 50 yards from the railway station. A single carpeted bar with a pool room to one side. 5 handpumps on the bar counter.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
