Bit of a trek out here. The view out of the windows was of the Seven bridge and the lights along South Wales. However, because of the lights in the pub reflecting back off the windows it was hard to see out at all.

Pre-noon visit on a Tuesday and I’m surprised to see the pub busy with potential diners, already hovering and awaiting the opening of the kitchen at 12:00. Many more were coming in; this is clearly a popular lunchtime choice in Portishead.

The pub is found in Portishead, Somerset, BS20 6JZ.

A very large pub in Nore Road that started life in 1908 as a clubhouse for Portishead’s small municipal golf course. Converted to pub use in recent years, it was initially called the Hole in One; changed now to the Windmill Inn. It is built around, and in truth completely dominates, a Grade II-listed stone windmill building which last ground corn in 1842. The feel of the pub is very much that of a modern building, with a small bar area at the front and very extensive dining areas on two floors, designed to make a feature of the superb sea views across the Bristol Channel to far-away Wales. Outside tables on decking at the front. Acquired by Fuller's in recent years.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 10 different beers and tried 2 of them.
