Lunchtime. Busy. We got the window seat though - and some free nibbles. Nice. Shame they only had Wantsum ales on - I like the brewery, but I also like a choice.

Swift one in passing, late afternoon, only one other customer in.8I was recognised and warmly welcomed. Apparently Minster had a shotgun incident on Monday night. Thought it was a quiet little village.

Early afternoon. Popped here on my own as a break from the New Inn. Got into conversation with a familiar face who seemed to know most of my favourite haunts and was aware of this site - mentioned Ian, Philip Pirrip and Chris Excel. He goes by the name of Kev the Pickle among other monickers apparently. Great chat. All ales @ £4.00 a pint.

Mid afternoon - as we were at the New Inn it would have been rude not to have had a cheeky one here as well. My fellow cyclists were suitably impressed.

3 Wantsum beers on, £3,50 a pint, £2 a half. 12 people in on a Friday afternoon. Came in to avoid the rain.

Wantsum - Hurricane4.50GoodA little flat but drinkable.

Early evening, busy, friendly. Cash only. Landlady explains that a cask of Wantsum is so much cheaper than Gadd’s - hence the dominance of Wantsum here as she tries to keep prices down. £3.50 and £4 for stronger beers.

Wantsum - Hurricane4.50AcceptableA little cloudy but drank ok.

Back for a “second Thursday” group visit - 9 of us making it quite cosy with about the same number of regulars. We were allowed food from the Chippy across the road - much to the relief of one local “that’s quieter now you’re all eating” she declared. Ales at £3.50 a pint, but £2 a half.
