I had an exceptionally nice lunch in here with a friend, at a time when the pub was fairly quiet. Notably good service. Preparations were in hand for the annual beer festival which starts here on Good Friday. There was a third local beer available, but I forget which one.

The pub is found in Stocksfield, Northumberland, NE43 7SW.

An impressive, stone-built pub, set in extensive grounds in the hamlet of Hedley-on-the-Hill, high above the Tyne Valley. The pub has won multiple awards in recent years for its locally-sourced food. Despite the food reputation, this is very much a proper pub, taking as much pride in its cellar as in its kitchen. There are three rooms and a garden area.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
