I had just missed some live music in the old taproom and a lot of people were drinking up and leaving.

Pub no. 8. Big busy pub on the front. Dark at the back. Another twiddle-de-de folk band were twiddling their stuff.

Sunday lunchtime. Last knockings of a St George’s Day beer festival in the front bar. Just time for one. I did not note the other beers available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pig & Porter - Skylarking4.00GoodPale, bitter and hoppy. Just a touch too thin I thought, but near end of barrel.

Evening. What a wonderfully atmospheric woody bar. Most welcoming barmaid of the evening.

The pub is found in Hastings, East Sussex, TN34 3EA.

A sea front pub whose address is actually in George Street which is its rear entrance. A former William Younger's of Edinburgh pub which must have been one its most southerly houses and presumably intended to attract Scottish holidaymakers in Hastings to a name with which they were familiar. Its name remains in several places in gold lettering on the wooden panelling. The main bar is a dark wooded interior with wood panelling which includes glass framed pieces of (now rather faded) Tartan cloth each labelled in gold with the clan name. There is an airy and bright side bar which is laid out for cafe style business for families and children. On CAMRA's list of Regionally important unspoilt interiors. 3 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 9 different beers and tried 4 of them.
