I keep forgetting that this pub is no longer the dodgy option in the area. In the early evening it has an unexpected ‘father and toddler’ atmosphere – too many to be coincidence, there must have been an event of some sort.

The pub is found in Walthamstow, Greater London, E17 9NJ.

This pub was first built as a beerhouse in 1859. It was tied historically to the Barclay Perkins Brewery, passing to Courage and then becoming a free house in 1993. There is a large front bar, a dining area to the side which extends to the rear and a good-sized courtyard garden out the back. Modernised and reinvigorated in 2014, including a definite step upmarket..

We have visited this pub twice, seen 8 different beers and tried 2 of them.
