Thought we would try some food with a pint. Wasn't disappointed om either count.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wood's - Pot of Gold4.40ExcellentA classic malty bitter. Great balance, body, condition and presentation.
Titanic - Stout4.50GoodOne of the few stouts I enjoy, not too acidic.

Thankfully the pub is no longer painted daffodil yellow and is now more peaceful to look at. We sat outside on the balcony overlooking the Vale of Llangollen and the 'World Heritage Site' - the aqueduct and canal at Froncysyllte. Three ales on handpump, well worth a visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Heavy Industry - Freak Chick4.60GoodAlmost red in colour, this was a good earthy bitter.
Salopian - Propaganda5.00GoodNot sure about this one, there seemed to be a lot going on and all in a bit of a muddle. Nevertheless OK, condition and presentation were excellent.
Big Hand - Super Tidy IPA4.00GoodSome biscuit malt, fruit and hops in good balance. Session ale or IPA?

14:15 Came here from Llangollen on the back road to avoid horrendous queues caused by roadworks that have been going on since December. Road took us right by the famous aqueduct and it was odd to see a narrowboat so high up in the air. Once at the pub we sat on the verandah overlooking the canal chatting to a couple from St Helens.
