15:00 Having enjoyed a ride with a cream tea on the railway we planned to return to the Fitzwilliam and try the new beer the Landlady was cleaning the pipes for. However, on passing the Crown some of the staff were outside having a break and tempted us back in. Couple of locals in with their dog. The dog enjoyed the attention from our group.

13:15 Second stop on our way to the Heritage Railway. Just the seven of us plus the husband of the cook. Made very welcome and caused the usual surprise when asked where we had all come from. Seven different counties and all going back home that evening.

The pub is found in Elsecar, South Yorkshire, S74 8EL.

Two room pub. Left hand room is the public bar with a small wooden corner bar counter. The room is a very comfortable place to have a drink and there is a large picture window at one end overlooking the valley below. The other room has been extended to the rear and has a much more contemporary décor and furniture.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
