18:38 Having visited the Birkdale street fair we dropped in here for a drink. Great atmosphere, my Southern twang prompted a discussion with a chap at the bar about regional accents. What Pub description is somewhat out of date so I had a chat with the landlord about his cask beer policy. When we exchanged names the fact that he was Pat and I was Mick prompted a wry smile.

The pub is found in Birkdale, Merseyside, PR8 5ND.

Back street local. Formerly a GBG regular the long term licensee moved on and the pub fell on hard times. The new landlord has turned the pub round and reintroduced cask beer. The pub has two main rooms and a corridor around the bar plus two further areas each in an arched alcove. A feature that often appears in Merseyside pubs. Acid etched Lion Ales windows are a nice survivor.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
