Evening visit and very busy. In some ways a bit like a Wetherspoon being a conversion of an old bank, upstairs toilets, etc.

I join a CAMRA pub crawl here – fully intending only to visit the first couple of pubs of five but end up doing four of them. Busy here and a tad pricey.

Quite busy in the early evening, especially as the mezzanine seating area was out of use and several ground floor tables were marked ‘Reserved’ but vacant.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - ESB5.50AcceptableServed very cold. Sweetish malt tastes began to develop as the beer warmed in the hand.

Early Tuesday evening and it was pretty busy already. Just a beautiful pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Porter5.40ExcellentChoccy and sour. Better condition than what I had before. But a bit warm. Maybe sat in the pipes for a bit. But just a stunning beer. The fruit, sour, choc flavour is intense. Amazing.

The pub is found in Fleet Street, Central London, EC4A 2LT.

Gloriously restored by Fuller's in what was the Law Courts branch of the Bank of England. Grand dark wood central bar dominates a room with chandeliers. Just your archetypal grand Victorian pub. Large oblong island bar with a bar back that includes a stopped 4 sided clock - stopped at 12.10 being the time of the last transaction of the old Bank of England. A balcony gallery overlooks the ground floor. 18 handpumps in 3 banks, each of 6 although one bank is for show only. Reported as purchased by McMullen and changes expected in 2019 when the existing Fuller's lease expires. Now a McMullen house.

We have visited this pub 7 times, seen 15 different beers and tried 5 of them.
