Mid afternoon and busy inside so we sat in the shaded garden at the rear. Must be over 10 years since my last visit, apart from the luminous green exterior repaint this proper drinkers pub hasn't changed a bit including the expected superb beer range on offer although I was deeply disappointed Doom Bar wasn't in the line up.

Made it at last! Late afternoon - a handful at the bar and a very fine selection of ales on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Angels & Demons (now uses McCanns branding not its own) - Bombay Social3.80ExcellentI had this after the Dark Star APA expecting it to be inferior, in particular due to its ABV. It was anything but - a really hoppy, full bodied beer in top condition.

Still on my wish list. After failing to find this place a couple of times with a sat nav in the past I made doubly sure I knew where it was and cycled 20 miles to get there at 1230 today - only to find it doesn't open until 1400 on a Tuesday. My fault - misread the opening times on What Pub. Odd, every other day of the week it opens at 1200 or earlier.
