Pleased to find this pub loom up out of the fog at lunchtime on an unusually bleak coastal walk.

Established in around 1798, this is a good, solid sort of pub. Located just behind the sea wall where the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation joins the estuary. Has two separate rooms and a courtyard outside drinking area. Turn left as you come in if here just for a drink, right for meals.
