Quite late in the evening. I had to brave a bouncer on the door to get in. Not clear why he was there; the pub was rather quiet.
Siren Craft - Liquid Mistress Red IPA5.80ExcellentOne of my favourites. Irresistible.

Late evening visit, just as the quiz was coming to an end. Not for the first time recently I was unable to benefit from the 42p a pint CAMRA discount because no managers were present and only a manager can authorise the discount.
Truman's - Scorcher4.20AcceptableMore of a golden beer with reddish tinges than an actual Red. Citrus hops. Rather thin body.

Mid to late-evening. Not busy. Very relaxed in fact.

Quite late in the evening. At first the pub appears almost empty, but then I realise there are quite a lot of people out in the back garden.

Late evening quick one.
Hepworth - Hiver The Honey Ale4.50GoodStrength given as 5.0%. An initially rather odd tasting Honey IPA. The flavour grew on me actually.

I managed to catch the last 20 minutes of the televised Millwall match in here. Standing room only. One cask beer only, with two Stod Fold Brewery clips turned around.

A very busy session ahead of football at Brisbane Road.
Brighton Bier - South Coast IPA5.00ExcellentOn very good form.
Marble - Pint3.90AcceptableIíve always thought of this as a beer with high hop levels. Dominated today by malty flavours.

About the Leyton Star

The pub sign. Leyton Star, Leyton, Greater London

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Leyton, Greater London, E15 2BX.

This pub was established in 1887 as the King Harold, replacing the former Grenadier, which had stood further north in Leyton. It was a Savill Brothers pub (the local brewery at the time), eventually passing to Charringtonís. By the turn of the twenty-first century this pub had acquired an exceedingly seedy reputation. To nobodyís surprise, it eventually closed in 2015, but re-opened in July 2016 as the Leyton Star, much refurbished and beautified. It occupies a street corner position, close to Leyton tube station. A large single bar with an upstairs function room (formerly used as a gym). Rear garden. Four handpumps on the bar. CAMRA discount available.

We have visited this pub 33 times, seen 40 different beers and tried 29 of them.
