After a few weak beers time for some big hitters
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Black Pearl Oyster Stout6.20Good£4.50 a pint but it went down well
Burning Sky - Pretty Mess IPA7.00GoodAnother Key Keg beer at £6.60 a pint. Nice.

Mid evening visit. We entered from the High Street but drank by the lower Marine Drive door. No cask beer and as the Kernel was reasonably priced I tried one, allegedly sold on KeyKeg dispense.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kernel - Table Beer (Simcoe & Amarillo)3.20AcceptableOK but seemed gassy

Pub number 5. This gave Ian the chance to talk about Belgium beer.

Again I’m in here as an alternative to the Fez, which is full to bursting point with live music drawing the crowds. It is very relaxed in here, with a steady through-flow of people in the short time I’m in.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Birrifico Italiano - Asteroid 56013 6.50ExcellentOn keg dispense. A somewhat random choice from the long beer list. It turned out to be lovely (and pricey) – golden and hoppy.

I actually stumbled upon this little bar by chance when looking for the Fez and liked it so much that the Fez (just a couple of doors away as it turned out) will have to wait for another day. It had a bit of a ‘Hackney-on-Sea’ atmosphere here, with lots of beards, woolly jumpers and pampered toddlers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Time and Tide - New Rose4.90ExcellentFrom a keg of some sort. A hazy gold colour. A rose-petal flavoured Saison. Lovely. Tasted like slightly soured, liquid Turkish Delight.
Alpine - Willy Vanilly 5.50ExcellentFrom a keg. Another hazy, golden beer and a really unusual one (from California). A German-style Weissbier at heart, it is vanilla-flavoured and has a creamy texture.
Time and Tide - Spratwaffler Pale Ale3.70GoodFrom a keg of some sort. A tasty, pale, hoppy beer. This glass spoiled a little by over-carbonation.
