Visits Details

21 Apr 2017 (Stephen Harris)
I met up here with Robert S after work for the first stop on a little south east London breweries tour. I was the first customer a little after 5pm, but it soon started to get busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Villages - Toucan4.30GoodOn keg dispense and a little bit fizzier than I like. A cloudy, golden, spicy, Session IPA.
17 Mar 2017 (Stephen Harris)
I moved on here from the Dog & Bell when it emerged that some of my friends had not been here before and needed a guide to the Deptford back alleys.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Villages - Oboe5.30ExcellentKeg dispense. A very nice, black, Porter/Stout. Chocolaty flavours, a dryness and some fruit.
Villages - Whistle4.40AcceptableKeg dispense. A Pilsner-style beer. Nice and clean, but I found it too sweet.
03 Feb 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening, with just a smattering of customers having found their way to this still-new taproom operation. No cask beers, with some form of kegging in use.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Villages - Pontoon4.30ExcellentBilled as a ‘South Pacific Red Ale’. Reddish in colour. Very good, fruity hop flavours.
Villages - Rodeo4.60GoodGolden in colour. A nicely balanced Pale Ale. Not a hopfest.
Gipsy Hill - Les Gilles6.50AcceptableA collaboration beer with Villages Brewery. A rather odd beer I thought. A Belgian-style Dubbel, flavoured with cherries. Woody. I’m not convinced that the idea really worked.
