I had never been to a temperance bar so as I was in the area I could not resist the chance to visit. It was a very enjoyable experience and I drank a glass of Dandelion and Burdoch Cordial then left without signing any pledge.

About the Mr Fitzpatrick's, Britain's Last Temperance Bar

The pub is found in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, BB4 6QS.

As the name suggests, this is a Temperance Bar, so absolutely no alcoholic drinks. The temperance movement was set up to save the working classes from the devil drink. Members had to sign the pledge to abstain from taking alcoholic drinks except as medicine. Temperance bars sprang up as popular meeting places to play games and share a delicious tonic or cordial. This is the only remaining one of the original temperance bars.

We have visited this pub once, seen 0 different beers and tried them all.
