Early evening and there are more than the stated capacity of 12 crammed into here. Many people have been to a Beer Festival at the Blue Boar which I did not know about, and I find an old friend from Chelmsford wedged into one corner.

The pub is found in Maldon, Essex, CM9 5BX.

This is a cross between a bottle shop and a micro-pub, in an ancient building at the bottom end of the High Street. Possibly the smallest pub in Essex. Maldon Brewery bottled beers are sold for take away, but there is also seating accommodation for 12 and a selection of cask beers to drink on the premises.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
