I arrived a few minutes before opening time and was let in immediately. Several people informed me that the friendly pub dog is now famous for having switched on the local Christmas Lights, albeit with a bit of help from somebody holding his paw. I am very impressed with the beer quality here.
Marble - Manchester Bitter4.20Excellent
Cromarty - Hit The Lip3.80ExcellentI really enjoyed this but some of our group described it as medicinal, I disagreed.
Brew York - Maris the Otter3.90ExcellentSuperb traditional bitter. Very popular here today, at least until it ran out.

The busiest that I have seen this pub. The landlord complained that he only gets his delivery of London Drinker a few days before the next edition comes out, and is still waiting for the current one, however he is considering placing an advertisement in the magazine. I met a group of lads who told me that they had been up to Carnforth to do The Snug only to find that they were a day too late and it is temporarily closed for structural repairs.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Sequoia4.50ExceptionalThis replaced one of the beers that ran out, amber coloured, some citrus and pine notes.
Saltaire - South Island Pale3.50Excellent
Northern Whisper - Blighty3.80Excellent
Hawkshead - Red4.20AcceptableI think this was the last one out, the person after me sent his back and the beer was taken off sale. Mine tasted much better than his so I kept it although it was a bit tired.
